When I was a young woman I wanted to be a model. When I look back now, I look back with gratitude that my 5 foot 6 frame would never allow this to be. I was simply too short. I see girls in the modelling industry with their waifish forms and I hope that the budding trend for fitter bodies continues to grow. I have 3 daughters now that I hope will see models in magazines with curves, strength, and confidence. I want to see FIT and healthy bodies on the cover of magazines. I want to encourage my girls and my clients to find the body that works for them. Through functional movement we find our own personal balance.
On April 2nd 2017 I finally completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Kaitlin Armstrong is changing the way that we do yoga for the better. She addresses the needs of the modern day yogi with her Body Intelligence program. Through my training, I learned functional movements that support todays lifestyles.
We sit too much. We hunch over our keyboards in ways that alter our physical bodies into misalignment. Look around you! My goodness, let’s put our bodies in line! How we carry ourselves effects EVERYTHING. Our digestion, our hormone production, even the way that we relate to the world and the way that the world sees us is effected by how we stand.
